Bro. Paul Hackney is the first sitting Arkansas DeMolay Master Councilor to become a 32˚ Scottish Rite Mason!

Serving two consecutive terms as Master Councilor of SEARK Chapter in Sheridan, Bro. Hackney was awarded the Past Master Councilor Meritorious service award, while SEARK was voted DeMolay Chapter of the year! He was appointed State Chaplain for Arkansas DeMolay in 2021, elected State Junior Councilor in 2022, and currently serves as State Senior Councilor. Last year, Bro. Hackney was dubbed a Chevalier, the Order’s highest honor!

At Sheridan Lodge No. 260, F. & A. M. of Arkansas on February 10, Bro. Hackney received the Entered Apprentice degree, then was passed to the degree of Fellowcraft on March 12th.  At the masters’ class held at Little Rock’s Albert Pike Memorial Temple on April 13, he was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, serving as the exemplary candidate. At our Centennial Class Reunion, May 10-11, he became a 32˚ Scottish Rite Mason. “I expect great things from our newest brother,” says fellow DeMolay, MWB Darrell Gifford, Grand Master of Free & Accepted Masons of Arkansas. “I know that he’s going to prove me right. I am very proud of this young man!”
